Cost Per Child: $120
This is a year-long class. For families with more than one child, the first child is $120, & additional children are $80 each. This can be paid all at once at the beginning of the year, half each semester, $20 a month, or whatever is convenient. If cost is an issue, please contact Diane. Grades 9-12 will receive 1 high school credit. The class will do drama exercises & study the life & times of William Shakespeare as well as read summaries of all 38 plays. They’ll read scenes from plays after reading the summaries. Through the study & performing of the material from a Christian perspective, this class helps to instill right from wrong, to build self-esteem & confidence, & to instill the camaraderie of teamwork. The material studied is from various books, websites, etc. The class will perform at the end of the year, & they’ll have smaller performances at the end of each semester. There is no minimum or maximum number of students.
High School Credit:Yes
Grades: 7th Grade, 8th Grade, 9th Grade, 10th Grade, 11th Grade, 12th Grade
Supplies Needed
Curriculum for the class is provided. However, costumes for the performances are the responsibility of each student. Diane has some costumes on hand as well as ideas for easy, inexpensive costumes. Please don’t let the thought of this hinder you from having your child take the class.
The class has one written homework assignment in the first semester - The students have to look through material that’s handed out in order to answer the questions. This homework is half of the first semester grade. Class participation includes drama exercises and scenes. When parts are handed out for the performances, the students are to practice (possibly memorize) their lines to be able to give their best during the performances. Parents will need to help with this, & they’ll help with costume(s) as well.
Due to the possibility of inclement weather, club day classes will be cancelled tomorrow, Jan 21, 2025.
